STUDENTS
Eligible students who submit an application to participate in Inclusive Teams, Inclusive Dreams’ Annual Dream Builders Program must be nominated by a faculty/staff member and be accepted to receive the following:
Students accepted into the program will participate in a one-day professional skills development program. The program will consist of professional volunteers going over proper interview etiquette, reviewing a “Which Career best Suites Me?” assessment with each student, optional college application assistance, and a “resume” workshop where we outline the basic concepts of building a resume. The proper interview etiquette section of the program will go over what attire is appropriate to wear to an interview, proper interview language, the importance of researching a company before an interview, and what questions to ask during the interview process. The career assessment will help our professional volunteers determine how best to direct the student to preferred positions and potential college majors in order to be successful.
After successfully completing the program, students will have an opportunity to interview with organizations of their choice determined either at the application process or after speaking with a volunteer about their career assessment. Interviews will be for paid and unpaid fall and summer internship positions with our partners. If the student ultimately is selected for an internship and accepts the position, students will have the opportunity to be mentored in the form of a career coach provided by either the organization or a professional volunteer under the Inclusive Teams, Inclusive Dreams program to provide them with additional support during and after their internship.
One graduating senior from each class that participates in the program will receive a $5,000 scholarship payable to the University or College upon their enrollment. Scholarship decision will be determined between a mix of financial need, positive program participation, and academic performance.
One graduating senior from each class that participates in the program will also receive a free laptop donated by one of our sponsors to aid in one of the largest college expenses for most students. Similar to above, decision will be determined between a mix of financial need, positive program participation, and academic performance.
Students accepted into the program will also have the opportunity to visit various on-site office locations throughout the year in the form of a field trip with some of our corporate partners. The purpose of these visits is to gain professional experience outside of the classroom and for networking opportunities. Students will also be able to ask questions about the specified industry and tour the office.
